Freelance journalism and GDPR

I’m delighted to announce that our guest speaker for tonight’s session about General Data Protection Regulation for journalists is Sorcha Lorimer of Sympatico Consulting, a North Berwick company specialising in data privacy regulation. GDPR comes into law at the end of this week by which time freelance journalists should have registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. We’ll be talking through the implications of this and having a look at what the journalistic exemption might mean.

We’ll also be reporting on the recent NUJ delegate meeting in Southport.
