15 Feb Whistleblowers and journalism

I’m delighted to announce a special meeting coming up next month.

Whistleblowers and journalism: blurred lines?

Whistleblowing is very much in the news, with inside leaks often playing a significant role in exposing corporate and government bodies to proper media scrutiny. What should be the professional and ethical response of journalists to information received from whistleblowers?

To explore these fascinating issues, we will join in conversation with someone who has direct experience of raising patient-safety concerns within the health service. Also on the panel will be investigative journalist, co-founder of The Ferret and branch member Rob Edwards. Chaired by Simon Barrow.

All welcome. Chatham House rules will apply.

A reminder that you can now keep up to date with the branch on Twitter at: @NUJ_EFB and on our website: https://www.edinburgh-freelance.org.uk
