Problems with the police ? Show your press card immediately; keep calm and do not physically resist. Record/film or make notes if you can and get police and witness details.

Edinburgh Freelance Branch

Branches and chapels are the grassroots of the NUJ. All members are assigned to a branch or chapel, which are normally the first point of contact for members.  The NUJ in Scotland has around 2,500 members, and around 180 are in Edinburgh Freelance Branch.

Scottish Executive Council

The Scottish Executive Council (SEC) meets around four times a year, and is made up of elected members from around Scotland who advise the Scottish Office. The SEC includes representatives of all branches and chapels in Scotland, as well as three freelance representatives.

National Executive Council

The National Executive is the highest elected body in the union. There are two members representing Scottish members, as well a Freelance sector representative.
