Branches and chapels are often the most immediate form of involvement for most NUJ members. Every member is assigned a branch or chapel, based on where they are based and what kind of work they do. Freelance members who are based in the Edinburgh area will most likely already be members of Edinburgh Freelance Branch – the membership department of the NUJ should be able to help if you are unsure.
Edinburgh Freelance Branch meets around in the evening of the third Monday of every month, with a break over the summer. It’s a great chance to hear speakers, meet other members and raise issues. The meetings usually hear about the work of other bodies in the union, such as the National Executive Council, the Scottish Executive Council and the Freelance Industrial Council.
All branch members are welcome to attend.
